Leadership Announcement: James L. Mulcahey Elementary School

Dear Taunton Public Schools Caregivers,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa White as the next principal of James L. Mulcahey Elementary School, beginning with the 2026–2027 school year.

Ms. White joins Taunton Public Schools from Middleborough Public Schools, where she served as principal of Mary K. Goode Elementary School. Earlier in her career, she served as an elementary principal in New Bedford Public Schools. Across more than 33 years in public education, she has led school improvement initiatives, strengthened curriculum and instruction, coached and developed educators, and built strong partnerships with students, caregivers, and staff. Her experience leading schools in both urban and suburban communities has given her a broad perspective on meeting the needs of students with a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and learning needs.

During the interview process, Ms. White demonstrated a collaborative approach to leadership and a clear focus on supporting students while working closely with educators and caregivers. I am confident that she will be an outstanding addition to the Mulcahey school community.
