TAUNTON - Superintendent John J. Cabral and Director of Athletics Mark Ottavianelli are excited to announce the creation of the Taunton High School Athletic Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame will recognize and honor the outstanding achievements of former student-athletes, coaches, teams, administrators, and contributors who have had a significant impact on the school's athletic programs over the years.
The Athletic Hall of Fame will showcase the school's rich sports history and celebrate the legacy of past athletes and coaches. It will also serve as a source of inspiration for current and future students, who will have the opportunity to learn about the achievements of those who came before them and strive for excellence in their athletic pursuits.
"We are thrilled to launch our Athletics Hall of Fame and recognize the outstanding contributions of our former student-athletes, teams, coaches, administrators, and contributors," said Superintendent Cabral. "This is a great way to honor their dedication and hard work, and to inspire our current and future students to reach their full potential."
"Considering Taunton High School's rich athletic history it was a no-brainer to create a Hall of Fame," said Ottavianelli. "I'd also like to thank Committee Chairman Michael Fox for his time and effort in turning this idea into a reality."
“We’ve been incredibly fortunate in Taunton to have witnessed some amazing student-athletes and coaches excel on our courts and fields,” said Fox. “This recognition is nothing short of what they deserve and I’m honored to be a part of this effort to recognize and celebrate their achievements.”
Nominations are open to the public and may be submitted either online at THSHallofFame.org or by printing and returning the nomination form to the Athletic Department at Taunton High School. Nominations for the first class close on May 31, 2024.
There are six categories for induction:
