Biology I - Mr. Blennau

Hi

Welcome to Biology I.  My name is Mr. Blennau. The 2020-21 school year will be my 18th year teaching Biology, the last four years here at Taunton High School. My goal for you this year is for you to develop a love for Biology and the learning process as a whole.

We will learn about four large topics over the semester. The first topic we will learn about it call Organic Molecules. These are the molecules that all living organisms are made of. We will have weekly quizzes to check in to see how you are doing with your learning. We will use the results to make modifications to the learning process if necessary. You will complete several virtual labs and on October 12 you will take the Unit 1 Exam.

The other three topics that we will study are:

Unit 2 Cell Processes - Biological Reactions such as Movement of Molecules, Cellular Respiration, and Photosynthesis
Unit 3 Genetic Material and Protein Synthesis - Structure and function of DNA and RNA and the production of proteins.
Unit 4 Heredity and Cell Division - Mendelian Genetics and Asexual and Sexual Reproduction.
